Residency Stages

The residency lasts a full 12 months and has three parts.

  • Stage 1: Heart

The "Heart Phase" is a transformative period where residents focus on cultivating habits that deepen their spiritual walk with Christ. During this phase, they engage in intentional practices such as daily prayer, scripture reading, worship, and reflection, which help to nurture a closer relationship with God.

This phase is about developing a heart attuned to God’s will, fostering spiritual disciplines that strengthen faith, and building a life rooted in Christ-like character. As residents grow in their personal devotion, they also learn to live out their faith in everyday actions, aligning their hearts with God's purpose for their lives.

  • Stage 2: Head

The "Head Phase" is an essential stage where residents focus on acquiring the knowledge and understanding necessary for effective ministry. In this phase, they delve into many different training classes, gaining the intellectual tools needed to navigate the complexities of ministry.

Through study, discussion, and guided learning, residents build a solid framework of biblical and practical wisdom. This phase equips them with the insights and strategies required to address the spiritual, emotional, and organizational aspects of ministry, preparing them to lead and serve with confidence and discernment in their future roles.

  • Stage 3: Hands

The "Hands Phase" is a hands-on training period where residents actively engage in ministry work, applying what they've learned in real-world contexts. This phase focuses on practical experience, allowing residents to serve in various roles within the church, from leading events to supporting church services and pastoral care.

Through direct involvement in ministry activities, residents develop essential skills, learn to work collaboratively, and gain a deeper understanding of what it means to serve others with compassion and excellence. The Hands Phase is all about turning knowledge into action, empowering residents to make a lasting impact in the lives of those they minister to.
