Care Ministries & Groups

Check out the various ministries and groups we offer below!

  • Visitation Ministry

ACC Care Ministry exists to minister God’s grace to people who are homebound, in the hospital, and more. Please contact John Schaaf.

  • Prayer Ministry

We want prayer to be at the center of all we do because we want God to be at the center of all we do. Every Sunday you’ll find that our teams begin praying even before our Sunday services begin and continue during our services. Throughout the week we pray for one another and beyond in our LifeGroups. And we periodically have Growth Courses specifically on prayer. Consider this your invitation to pray with us, come for prayer, or request prayer.

  • Benevolence Ministry

We all find ourselves in seasons where we need extra assistance. If you find yourself in a place of need please reach out to us.

  • Kairos Prison Ministry

Arundel Christian Church is thrilled to announce the launch of our Prison Ministry in partnership with Kairos Prison Ministry International in 2025! This powerful ministry focuses on sharing the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ with those who are incarcerated. Kairos, meaning , "the right time," "an opportune moment," or "a critical juncture," has a proven history of transforming lives within prison walls, helping inmates experience hope, healing, and restoration.

Through Kairos, our ministry will serve inmates and their families, offering spiritual renewal and building Christian community inside correctional facilities. This work includes hosting Kairos Weekend Programs, where volunteers lead worship, prayer, and small group discussions. These weekends are designed to help inmates encounter God’s love in a life-changing way. In addition, we will provide ongoing support through prayer, mentorship, and encouragement to help participants continue growing in their faith.

Kairos Prison Ministry is a chance to live out Jesus' call to visit those in prison (Matthew 25:36) and share His redemptive power. Whether you feel led to serve directly during a Kairos weekend, join a prayer team, or encouragement, there is a place for you to make an eternal impact.

Together with Kairos Prison ministry, we can bring the hope of Christ to those who need it most. Stay tuned for more details on how you can participate in Spring and Fall 2025!

  • Surrendering The Secret

Many women hide the secret of abortion deep in their hearts and they are suffering severe consequences. They carry a great burden of shame and failure, afraid to reveal their hidden pain, and by doing so are forced to endure the long-lasting effects in isolation. Surrendering the Secret will allow women to release this burden and find freedom through 'redemptive community' while experiencing hope and joy, as shame and failure are replaced with beauty. This an anonymous support group for women only; times and dates will be worked out individually with women as they sign up.

  • GriefShare

GriefShare is a support group that is a safe and welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability, and gain solid support each step of the way. Most importantly, you will know that you are not alone in your journey.

  • Surviving The Holidays

Surviving the Holidays is for those are struggling with the loss of a loved one as we approach the Christmas season. This is a time that can be a struggle for anyone, but especially when missing a loved one. This 2-hour support group contains practical and encouraging information to help you throughout the holiday season. It includes practical strategies and exercises and a booklet that address issues you're facing this holiday season.

Stephen Ministry

The Stephen Ministry at ACC seeks to provide one-to-one Christ-centered care to people in the congregation and the community experiencing life difficulties.

  • How does Stephen Ministry work?

A trained Stephen Minister is matched with a person experiencing a life crisis. The Stephen Minister then meets with the Care Receiver to listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support. Their Stephen Minister will walk with them and provide confidential Christian care during tough times.

  • Who are Stephen Ministers?

Stephen Ministers are congregation members who have trained for 50 hours to offer high-quality, one-to-one Christian care to people going through tough times. Stephen Ministers come from all walks of life. Their commonality is a passion for bringing Christ’s love and care to people during a time of need.

  • Who are the care receivers?

Care receivers are people—congregation members and others in the community—who receive care from a Stephen Minister. These are people struggling through a difficult time in life—experiencing grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or other life crises. The caring relationship lasts as long as the person is in need of care. The identity of those receiving care, and anything that is shared, remains confidential.

  • How do I request a Stephen Minister?

We would count it a blessing to walk alongside you in this season of life. Please email us at StephenMinistry@arundelcc.org to be connected with a personal Stephen Minister.

  • How do I become a Stephen Minister?
