Ministry/professional background
I graduated from Atlanta Christian College and then from Emmanuel School of Religion. As a student I worked in Atlanta's Jesus Place Inner City Mission. I'm currently attending Walden University's PhD program for licensed counseling psychology. I've been serving as a minister since 1982, working first in youth ministry, then as a senior minister and a Bible college instructor. I did lay teaching and ministry in churches frequently from 1995-2003. I began teaching for ACC beginning in October 2007. I’ve had a great time ministering in MN, TN, WV, WA and for ACC in Glen Burnie, MD.
I lean heavily on the Bible for the power, insight, and passion to do ministry. I love to share my Bible reading plan to anyone who will listen. Challenges in the last year have made prayer a greater part of my Christian walk.

Family Info
I am the one “single-again” pastor on the staff, and this adds particular experience and interest in dealing with bereavement, dissolution, relationships, personal development, and blended family issues. I have three children grown and gone: Jessica in Sweden, MAC serving with the 10th Mountain Division in Afghanistan, and Josiah creating with computer graphics in Seattle area. I have two young children who are often in my care, my little girl Nina and my young son Tristan. I am deeply proud of all my children and I love being a Daddy. I actually miss shopping for training pants and baby supplies!

How long have you been at ACC and what do you like about working here?
I've been here since July of 2007, and my role in leadership has grown due to the grace of this leadership team and how much we enjoy working together.  I have always loved the people, volunteers, and leaders of the church. I am amazed at the grace and movement of God's Spirit in this place. We have so much to be grateful for.

What's your favorite book, movie, or television show?
I enjoy The Actor's Studio, 24, and as far as movies go, especially enjoy thrillers and dramas that explore some of the strange and complex journeys of life folks don't often talk about.

Something we don't know about you....
I was a prison guard for almost a year in Eastern Tennessee during 2004-2005.
