Accepting God’s Enough
I often feel like the Israelites in the desert... wanting desperately to enter the promised land and God just says “Not today.”
My problem is that I have such a hard time focusing on “today.” I’m more interested in tomorrow. I pray about tomorrow. I dream about tomorrow. I’m ready for tomorrow. But I’m learning that God is far more interested in my today than he is in my tomorrow. Like God providing manna for the Israelites in the desert, I’m learning that God provides enough for today, today and He’ll take care of tomorrow…tomorrow.
Dan Allender in his revolutionary leadership book “Leading with a Limp” says this:
“The grace for the moment is the manna for today. There are enough problems today and sufficient grace to meet them now. There is not grace for tomorrow because the gift is now, for the moment, and not for what is to come. There will be grace for tomorrow, but it will not come today.”
So I’m learning to accept His enough for today so I can live in today and pray to meet the demands of the moment. As we approach 2010, and pray about the Exponential Conference, let’s embrace the Transformation God has us engaged in “Today!”

an update
so it is time for us to move again...
actually i'm not sure if it is time or not, but we are moving again. we will be spending the next few months in the pittsburg area living with my parents while we ready ourselves for the next phase of "professional" ministry. audra and i are going to plant a church, the exact whereeabouts of said church plant are still TBD, and timelines are a little fuzzy as well, but we are working with some great people and organizations to put ourselves in the right situation.
God has been moving us in this direction, and opened some doors for us, while closing others and narrowing our focus. i will post more as the details unfold, but we covet your prayers during this time of transition. (mostly during the moving-back-in-with-my-parents portion of the transition
